The setting
Three acres of still water and open sky on the edge of Hogsthorpe village, where the Lincolnshire countryside runs down to the coast.
Three fully furnished lodges look out over a stocked coarse-fishing lake, each with its own decking above the water. Mornings tend to start slowly here.
The lodges
Three lodges, each facing the water
All three are fully furnished, with three bedrooms, open-plan living and lake-facing decking of their own. The differences are in the layout, where the decking wraps, what each main bathroom holds, and how many the sofa bed adds.
The Manor
A king size main bedroom with en-suite, two twin rooms, and a main bathroom with a bath as well as a shower.

The Manor is our pet friendly lodge, at £15 per dog per night, with a maximum of two. Please ask when you enquire.

Days shaped by the water
Three acres of still water with arable fields running out to the horizon, and the Lincolnshire coast a short drive beyond the village. What you do with the day tends to sort itself out.
On the lake
Coarse fishing, steps from your door
The lake is stocked for coarse fishing, with pegs set close to the lodges. Cast before breakfast while the mist is still sitting on the water, then wander back for coffee on the decking. Nobody minds if the rods stay where you left them.
Fishing rules, licence requirements and peg arrangements are confirmed when you book.
Who else is here
The lake keeps its own timetable
A kestrel pair nests on site and works the field edge through the late afternoon. The mallards claim the jetties by first light and give them up reluctantly. In high summer red admirals drift along the hedgerow beside the track.
There is no hide and no marked trail. You sit still on the decking with a cup of something, and things turn up.
Gathering
Long lunches between the lodges and the water
Brick-built barbecues and timber picnic tables sit in the grass between the lodges and the lake. Bring something worth cooking slowly, and let the afternoon run on into the evening.
A four person barrel sauna can be booked alongside your stay, at £50 a night. See the sauna.
Beyond the gate
Coast days, countryside evenings
Hogsthorpe village is on the doorstep, and Chapel St Leonards, Ingoldmells and Skegness are each a short drive for a day on the beach. Inland, the Lincolnshire Wolds are there for the walking days.
Whichever way you go, come back for the last of the light coming off the water.
